We've begun today with the second six week work period. We'll complete on Sep. 12th and see where we are in terms of break and future work.
We agreed to have each person choose their forefeit (ideally not needing to have one) from:
- Cold shower
- Skipping a meal
- Standing with arms extended to the sides for 5 min.
- Standing on one leg for 5 min
Please post your weekly reports as comments below.
Let's rock!
03/08/15 I cleaned the mirror of the bathroom, while doing the job, I wondered if the space between de sink and the mirror was dirty too, It was and I cleaned it too.
ResponderEliminar04/08/15 I removed some cobwebs off the ceiling in a room.

Monday. I emptied a paperboard box full of useless things so I can get some extra space in my bedroom.
ResponderEliminarTuesday. I organized my clothes on the closet and cleared the bed where I used to throw it.
Wednesday. I cleaned my studio.
Thursday. I cleaned the fridge after being avoiding it all day long. I was about to accept my failure and go to sleep, but then I decided to not let me fail and I did it. I finished the job after midnight and in that way I realize that IF my duty was done on time, it will never be a torment, besides it will cause collateral damage on the next day's duties just because of being late to bed.
Friday. I took a pile of old useless papers and broke them all.
Saturday. I cleaned up the coffee maker.
At first it was a little difficult for me to choose the job of each day, but after thursday's experience I felt myself ready to do the job. I even did more tasks than what I am posting here just because I had the time and because (I think) I developped the necessity of being productive.

Friday answered messages and e mails.
Saturday did the analysis of a piece, half a piece.
At the time I did not notice anything, I was afraid of failing in the middle of the week so I chose something simple and useful.
I see the mound of clothes that grew again in my room and I'm tempted to choose this as my job for Monday. Then I remember that folding clothes was my job for the first and last weeks of the first period. I also remember what Diego had said about 'maintaining' a task that had been done. Seeing these clothes -again- and the fact that I failed to give a completion report were two things that -to me- were connected somehow, or at least spoke to me in a tangible way.

ResponderEliminarTuesday. Cold shower as forefeit. It felt as if water had decided to be even colder today. Even though it was sort of unbearable, the cold water woke me up from my usual absent-mindedness and made me a little more present this day. The job was To make a phone call I kept postponing.

13/08/15 I went to get a replica of the keys of muy house.
14/08/15 I took out the seat belts from below the back sit of the car, I don't know why they were dirty, but I cleaned them. I left the task for the end of the day not expecting for an additional thing to do, the darkness made it more dificult. I succeeded.

ResponderEliminar18/08/15 I cleaned de furniture at the corridor, at the begining, the work felt a little rough, the choice was like just to do something to avoid failure, during the job I did a task that could have been a perfect Job of the day by itself. Then 3 things that were neglected long time ago apeared during the task, I found Job future Jobs.
At the end of the day, what seemed to be a careless decision was a well done job and an open door.

Got one reflection in this week. Last week I felt doing this Jobs like a burden, since i had a lot of other things to do that I'd rather prefer doing. Over this I thought about the importance of prioritizing and organizing whatever i have to do in the day and weeK, so when the time of doing the job I don't carry with the uncomfortable feeling of having to do something else.

Mon, Tue, Wed. Divided one task into three defined parts. The job was to make specific changes to the CGE site gallery. Couldn't get to complete any of the jobs within 30 minutes.
ResponderEliminarThu. Failed. Didn't plan a job for the day and then forgot about it. Decided I'd pay my forefit the next day but also failed to do it. It was until sunday that I stood with my arms extended for five minutes. I noticed it has been hard for me to choose a forefit, since I find they compromise my health to a certain degree... i'm not at my healthiest atm.
Fri. Calling another physioterapist and making an appointment.
Sat. Dinning table was messy, full of my school stuff, so I put all those things away.

Job of the Day
ResponderEliminarPrimer Semana:
31/8
5/9
No hice el forfeit.
Me fui a dormir sin haber decidido mi trabajo.
Fallé.
6/9
No hice el forfeit.
Segunda Semana:
7/9
9/9
Trabajo: Salir a correr.
12/9
Trabajo: Enviar un email a un posible venue.
I answered and sent a questionnaire that I had to fill.
ResponderEliminarI made an order by phone.
I wrote an email.
I searched and gave to my mother some information that she had asked me for.
I organized a small box containing medicines.
I wrote a list of things I must do, buy and organize for the days I will be out.
07/09/15 cleaned two shelves that had mug stains, there were two very old stains that couldn't be cleaned, it became a good reminder to not neglect things.
ResponderEliminar08/09/15 I went to the gas station to fill the car's spare tire.
09/09/15 I took a jacket to the laundry to be dry cleaned.
10/09/15 swept and mopped my bedroom and studio's floor, there were hard stains, so I decided to clean it by hand with the rag. Being this close to the task and to work on my knees took me to an other level of involvement with the job.
11/09/15 I moved and threw away some things that were in a corner of the laundry space.
12/09/15 I cleaned some paint from the garage's door that impregnated to the car while I was parking the car the night before, I didn't wanted to clean it beacuse of the difficulty of the task, and there was a huge temptation to neglect it. I did it to remind myself to be more focused while parking.
Monday 7th: I decided to practice Third Relation.
ResponderEliminarTuesday 8th: I took off a sticker from my guitar case
Wednesday 9th: Tuesday’s night it rained too much and there were a lot of leaves in the entrance of my house, so I swept them all.
Thursday 10th: I set up a hanger for cables on my studio.
Friday 11th: I stringed a friend’s guitar. I nearly failed because I was avoiding the job the whole day, but then I realized that I had free time and I decided to use that time for the job instead of wasting it.
Saturday 12th: I removed the dust from a bookcase and every ornament on it
monday - Fail! A day of fail. Fail from horizon to horizon. I was unsuccessful at many commitments in addition to JOTD. My job was to transcribe a very, very, very simple passage. I had not the skill. After too much time, I forfeit. Cold shower. The JOTD reaches back in time: a good Decision requires a good sitting, which requires a restful sleep, which requires an intentional close to the prior day,and so on. Or, begin well today, and...
ResponderEliminartuesday - Third Relation with dancing @80bpm x 10

ResponderEliminarTuesday: Failed
Wednesday: Cleant a pair of windows. Some time after seemingly "completing" the job, I notice both windows are dirtier than before. I decide to really clean them, this time with the attention that is required for the Job.
Thursday: Cleant a corner of the space used for washing clothes. While I do the Job, even as I notice all the dirt, and acknowledge how obnoxius can cleaning be, I experience some kind of joy or pleasure. I relate this to the relation I've created with this space; and to the freedom acquired not only by the near completion of this particular Job, but by the work in itself.
Friday: Failed
Saturday: Go over a piano piece I'd been denying for a while. Again, I began puting attention some time after I was into the Job. This made the task longer, but I managed to structure the practice in a good manner.
Monday, I did housework, it seems that it is always necessary.
ResponderEliminarTuesday, I work on repertoire.
Wednesday, working in a mail to the OCG.
Thursday, the work was printed and work in a particular piece, I could not print the page, but I could work on it thanks to a photo they sent me.

As conclusion of this period I did a workplan, which has annulled take as job of the day working on repertoire, since I have assimilated as daily work.
In this period I noticed that there are certain jobs which are recurring in my life, at least in this 2nd period.

ResponderEliminarTuesday: Changing string of my acoustic guitar, turning them in ost. Ireally don't use it that much.

Tuesday: Appointing a date with a nutritionist.
Friday: emptying another box.
Saturday: Fixing once again two chairs, this time with the right tools.
Mon. Folding laundry.
ResponderEliminarTue. Hand washing clothes. I had received physical therapy the day before, and my arm was pretty much destroyed. I was stubborn to drop the job even though it was harmful. In the end, I admitted it wasn't good for me and acnowledged I had failed. I paid the forefit immediately after.
Wed. Doing a school assignment. I chose this because it takes me A LOT of time to complete homework. I was able to do it in 30 minutes, and I saw how much time is lost when we forget what our aim is, and what we are actually doing.
Thu. Can't remember this day's job.
Fri. Reading a book chapter.
Sat. Failed do the job during the day, and it couldn't be done at night. I found another task but immediately asked myself 'What.is.the point?'. I saw I could simply do this new task and that would be it, but I just couldn't let go of the question. What is the point of us doing this?
I recognized I had failed and took a cold shower the next day.
I also recognize this super late post as a failure.
